Bioluster Bioluster was an installation created by Accelerator Group, a collaborative group I started to foster distance collaboration and explore emerging technologies. Our initial project picked up on the heels of my previous work with RFID as a medium for interactive sound installation. Bioluster was selected for inclusion in the Seattle chapter of Dorkbots's "Peopole Doing Strange Things With Electricity 3" show at 911 Media Arts Center in Seattle. It won the Microsoft Live Labs Ingenuity Award. Bioluster uses passive RFID tags an a reader to transmit signals to a G4 PowerBook that runs a custom built application called RFID Builder 2.0. The red control pieces are contants, which affect the variable output of the graphite pieces. |
